Facility Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Alberta Diluent Terminal & Alberta Crude Terminal (ADT/ACT) and its processes. The incumbent will be a liaison between operations and the Senior Operator to ensure the successful operation of the processes at the ADT/ACT facility.
Facility Operators will split their time between facility operations and control room activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the operation of facility process equipment e.g., pumps, vessels, gas chromatograph
Participate in the development and implementation of Emergency Response Exercise (ERP) drills
Prepare, review and sign work permits for employees and contractors
Conduct Pre-job Meetings and supervise work being performed by third party services
Actively participate and lead Health, Safety & Environment Site meetings
Mentor and lead junior operators
Active involvement in the creation and development of new safe operating procedures
Oversee the operation of the Truck Rack
Complete facility readings
Pull rail car samples as required
Perform orientations of contractors and truck drivers
Work with Keyera’s Measurement Group to complete monthly meter proving
Complete applicable administrative paperwork
Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Shift Lead
Preparation of Lock Out and Tag Outs for maintenance purposes
Participate in the development of new business opportunities at ADT/ACT
Perform troubleshooting on equipment and processes and seek assistance when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
Self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision
Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Have proven experience using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Human–Machine Interface (HMI)
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and other software programs
Displays a strong interest in furthering their education i.e., Power Engineering, GPO, NGP III, financial training etc.
