Job Scope
The FST is under direct supervision of one of the Service coordinators and reports daily to this person.
This role subjects the FST to high noise areas, vibrations, working with heavy tools and equipment.
The role may also require working with high pressures, confined spaces, high temperatures and toxic gases/Flammable Gas. Work is primarily in a field environment including land based and offshore locations.
Main Accountabilities
Support and execute daily activities including but not limited to, preparation, installation, repair, and maintenance of the Company products.
Perform calculations and checks on and offshore such as, space outs, status of equipment, test pressures etc.
Works independently or in a team as a professional service technician to install products and conduct repairs and or maintenance of equipment and maintaining assets as per the Service Manual.
Ensure that all equipment, service tooling, backup, and spare parts etc are on location and ready to use and fit for function prior to the start of each job.
Ensure that the field service reports, and other associated reports are completed with all the required information, timing, part and serial numbers, type of equipment, issues faced, FNCR’s etc.
Maintains communication on a high level and daily with internal and external Company Representative on issues including job procedures, spare parts requirements, critical dimension measurements. Suggestions to improve on safety and or the operation, etc.
Provides sales support through quality customer interface and handles customer complaints in a professional manner.
Completes Field Non-Conformance Reports (E-FNCR) forms. Assures all equipment and procedural defects are communicated back to the Company Coordinator.
Proactively pursues safe work practices and complies with the Company Quality Management System requirements. Ensure smooth operations with a high focus on QHSE and enforce adhesion to the Company code of ethics.
Reports from a project execution perspective to the Service Project Manager daily and inform him directly in case business critical decisions must be made, operational, customer or personnel wise and support a MOC.
Lead a team of FST’s, actively coaching/mentoring more junior colleagues.
Responsible for the smooth running of all operations, liaising with client representatives both onshore and offshore.
Constantly strive for improvement of safety, knowledge, professionalism, and customer success.
Qualifications and Experience
HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or time served apprenticeship preferably in a mechanical discipline.
A formal technical and/or mechanical education (mechanic, hydraulics)
Offshore drilling environment experience is preferred.
Strong mechanical and/or hydraulic related experience in an oilfield equipment environment.
Capable of reading and understanding procedures and drawings
Knowledge of safety in relation to working with pressurized equipment, exploitation of cranes; gas equipment.
A valid Health certificate for offshore work
Safety and Emergency Training
Excellent in English language in writing and verbally.
Computer skills: Competent and familiar with MS Office applications and email package(s)
Knowledge of Surface Wellhead equipment
Knowledge of surface operations.
